Well, I tried. I came over here - from Twitter - hoping to find community with others who support free speech. But there's no one here. Well, almost. After two months and 81 posts, I've acquired 7 followers. Time to cut bait. It's too bad, because this is a well-designed platform. The problem is there's almost no one here. I'm off to try Gab.
@LibertarianCarGuy Thanks for trying! I appreciate you!
@LibertarianCarGuy I made it! Are you sure this site is free speech oriented? It's not open account creation, which makes me wonder about it. The character limit sure is alot better than where I came from, but having to "apply" for an account is a bit telling for why very few people are coming over here. I love Mike Adams and what he's trying to do, I've payed attention to him for years now, but it does seem like closed account creation is not a way to get a site to grow. One advantage it does have is I'm sure there won't be near as much of a problem with darned bots here as over there, that's a really annoying problem twitter has.
I will probably stop posting here as there seems to be nothing happening here. See my article about "reluctant revolutionaries" below. Most people want to "Tweet." And that's just how it is.
I was really hoping this could be a viable alternative to Twitter. But most people refuse to quit "Tweeting." Almost no one has left there to come here. I have been here for going on two months and have acquired all of 7 followers. We're doomed. It's hopeless.
@LibertarianCarGuy I'm afraid "doom" was always a guarantee. Getting hopes up too much will only cause frustration, so I tend not to these days. All we can do is try, Eric. I try, and I check things out when people tell me about them, I came over here to see what it was all about, I'll stick around, and see where this place goes in the long run, hopefully there's more competition to the "Big Three" that actually takes off some day, but I'm not counting on it. What you are doing is the right thing to do, trying other sites, but also, more importantly, you have your own website epautos.com, and that's the most effective thing you can do if you can somehow continue to get the word out about it, like I said before, keep up the good work getting on radio shows, promote your own site when you do, promote this site. One thing about your site epautos.com though is there are certain features of it that are broken in some way. "Manage subscriptions" on the comments 404's for me, and I'm not entirely sure the "Ask Eric" works at all, no confirmation email, and never got a reply from you on a car question I had which I didn't know if you knew anything about or not, but it was worth a try, but not getting any sign of life in my email tells me you have some server back-end issues, and you may not be getting emails from your site.
This whole social media thing is a waste of time. I came here hoping people would come here fromTwitter. Almost no one has.
@LibertarianCarGuy Funny you say this. I've never opened an X account. Here you will find many good people and great minds. People come and go posting news and giving opinions. Journalists observing for good stories. Researchers looking for ideas.
I think there are more "watchers" here then anything. Yes maybe not as exciting and interactive as the rest but you will find a good family here.
Hi Voice - I'll stick around for awhile and see what happens. I just feel frustrated by the fact that so many people - including people on our side (putatively) - refuse to stop "Tweeting," which I see as akin to Charlie Brown trying to kick the football Lucy always pulls away at the last moment.
