Castle Rock is Jack's (The Antagonist) base in Lord of the Flies. Ralph (The Protagonist) has his own base and group separated.

At the end of the book, the two factions battle and Ralph takes heavy losses, losing his two right hand men. Now, when all he can do is struggle to stay alive as long as possible, a deus ex machina appears, at the last possible moment, in the form of the naval officer who brings the boys back to the world of law, order, and society.
