Iran university offers scholarships to students expelled from US and European universities during protests
Shiraz University in Iran says it will offer scholarships to students from universities in the United States and Europe who have been expelled during the ongoing student protests connected to the crisis in the Middle East.
“Students and even professors who have been expelled or threatened with expulsion can continue their studies in Shiraz University and I think that other universities in Shiraz and Fars province are prepared to do the same too," Shiraz University President Mohammad Moreno said.
Shiraz is a major city in Southern Iran and the capital of Fars province.
Moreno made the comments during a gathering of students and professors from several Shiraz universities in support of US and European pro-Palestinian protesters.

Western troops will not be deployed to Ukraine, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has insisted, after French President Emmanuel Macron suggested that this possibility cannot be ruled out. According to Scholz, it was clear from a meeting in Paris on Monday that fellow European leaders have no appetite to send soldiers to support Kiev.
Speaking at a press conference following a gathering of Kiev’s backers in the French capital on Monday, Macron had stated that “we cannot exclude anything,” despite there being “no consensus today to send, in an official manner, troops on the ground [to Ukraine].” He further argued that a Russian victory in the conflict would be a major blow for European collective security. That assessment was later echoed by French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal.
Speaking to reporters in Freiburg on Tuesday, Scholz stressed there will be “no ground troops, no soldiers on Ukrainian soil, who are sent there by European or NATO countries” in the future.
He also pointed out that active-duty Western military personnel are currently prohibited from taking part in the Ukraine conflict.
According to Scholz, the leaders who met in Paris on Monday were “unanimous as far as this question is concerned.”

The title of a painting is part of the work. Just like you don't change the colors, you don't change the title. In woke Germany, it's a little different. This is the only way to explain why the (pseudo-)scientific team at the Lenbachhaus in Munich who came up with the idea of changing the title of a painting by August Macke because it violated the self-invented language rules of the woke moral guardians.

In 2024, the museum replaced the letters n, d, i, a, n and s with the much woker I******* which can now be read there. Their reason: The word Indian reflects “the sometimes derogatory, even racist elements of the zeitgeist at the time.”
Matthias Mühling, director of the museum, is not entirely satisfied with the measure either. In the future he would simply cross out words and terms that violate common decency.
It is not the first time that August Macke has fallen victim to the very narrow German ideas of right and wrong. Even during National Socialism, the German art connoisseur knew that Macke's work was "degenerate." His works were removed from the collections. The Munich Guardians of Good Morals in Art follow a very German tradition in dealing with the freedom of art.

Starting on Mon, 8 Jan 2024, the German farmers plan the biggest action demonstration in history. Tens of thousands of farmers will be blocking roads and highways at hundreds of locations throughout the country.
Various unions are also gearing up for massive strikes throughout the country as well. There is talk about businesses, doctors, truckers, railways and more going on strike at the same times. That remains to be seen.
