So, wanted to share something of a personal note that corresponds to the economic woes we talk about. I run a small trucking company. We are a carrier for a large steamship line as a dedicated carrier for a big well known account now for 10 years. I received a call this morning from a big wig at the steamship line. He stated he was calling all of their carriers and requesting rate reductions due to the economic downturn, even as inflation is hitting the drivers and trucking companies hard. Ladies and gentleman, shit is getting bad and even long standing, essential Infrastructure, like transportation, is getting hit.
Just got another rate hike from the electric company here in Florida.So I did some figuring.
June, we were paying 12.20 cents per KWH.
Then it went up in July to 13.5 cents per KWH. Now just got the new rate increase effective Oct 1, which is going to be 15.95cents per KWH. We use roughly 4000 KWH's
per month so, using the sameKWHs, our bill was the following
June $488
July $540
October $638
will be $150 more in October than it was in June.
