Because it’s harder to cheat when ballots are counted by hand? National and state Democrats are suing the Georgia Election Board to stop a new rule that requires workers to hand count ballots in the upcoming presidential election. Democrats are asking the court to invalidate the rule and permanently block it.

The rule, approved by a 3–2 vote, requires the hand count to be done before the election is certified. “I can guarantee you, as a voter, I would rather wait another hour to ensure that the count is accurate” Janelle King, one of the members who voted for the rule, said before the board voted on it.
