There was a bishop came from India: he was called Bishop K. C. Pillai. He wrote "Eastern Manners, Customs and Orientalisms of the Bible". It explains many eastern customs in the holy bible that are necessary for understanding many Scripture passages, such as an eastern bride would be waiting for her bridegroom in the outer edge of a town.
Matthew 25:1,5: "Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.
And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him."
The bridegroom is the Messiah.
