The US to purchase a half billion doses of Pfizer vax to donate to poor countries.
Pfizer and BioNTech will sell an additional 500 million doses of their Covid-19 vaccine to the U.S. government to be donated to some of the world’s poorest countries, the companies announced Wednesday, as President Joe Biden urges leaders of wealthy countries to step up and address vast inequalities in vaccine access on the sidelines of the U.N. General Assembly.
