Well, they did it again, Canada hiked the interest rates by another 0.75%, AND they are saying they will do it again in October!! So that's an increase of 3% overall since March!!
We are being PUSHED OUT of our homes now. Our mortgage interest has already DOUBLED, and now will go up yet again. This is outrageous.
Most people in Canada who bought homes in the past year paid a minimum of $1.5 million (that is for a SMALL, 1000 sq ft home here) and now are seeing their house values plummet as everything crashes. So imagine the predicament THEY are in for their mortgages! Because most chose a variable rate since the rates were so LOW. So when you do the math on that, a lot of people are going to have some serious financial problems.
